Access Follett Court Records

Start with the ticket if you need the Follett court docket. Follett Municipal Court handles city cases in Lipscomb County, and its records live with the court clerk at city hall rather than on a public search portal. The court appears in the Texas court directory, and the city website posts a phone, email, address, and city-hall schedule you can use to reach the office. Read the court and cause number printed on your citation first. Then call and ask the clerk about your court date, the current status, and what the docket shows. A county JP citation takes a different path entirely. The annual OCA activity report offers dated context but lists no cases. Always confirm hours, appearance instructions, copy fees, and payment terms with the Follett court directly before relying on a contact page or a report row.

Follett Directory and Report

Two official sources, two different jobs. The live OCA Lipscomb directory names Follett Municipal Court. It lists judge Shelley G. Burke, P.O. Box 216, Follett, TX 79034-0216, telephone 806-653-3411, and cityoffollett@live.com. The OCA 2025 municipal activity report supplies aggregate counts for a closed reporting period. Neither one shows an individual docket.

Inside Follett Municipal Court

Follett Municipal Court handles city ordinance and Class C matters that fall inside its jurisdiction. For court identity, the OCA directory is the strongest source there is. Yet it says nothing about whether the court is of record, where hearings happen, whether remote appearances exist, or how an appeal gets filed.

The city site posts no dedicated court page. Ask the municipal contact directly whether the judge and address still stand, where to send a records request, when court convenes, and whether an old citation is kept locally. A Lipscomb County District Clerk search is not the default path for a Follett municipal cause.

Follett's Zero Activity Row

In the OCA 2025 municipal activity report, Follett shows a report population of 350 with zeros across the criminal, civil, and administrative activity columns. The Texas Demographic Center puts Follett at 373 in the 2020 Census. Different sources, different vintages.

0reported values in the displayed 2025 activity row

A row of zeros does not prove a ticket never existed, that old records vanished, or that the court sits idle. It proves only what the report shows. Call before concluding anything about a case.

Finding Follett Court Dates

Follett posts no court calendar, recurring docket day, reminder service, or remote-hearing policy. Your newest citation or setting notice is the place to start, though a later reset can override it. Phone 806-653-3411 and ask for the current date, time, place, type of setting, and how to appear.

DateThe current setting confirmed for the cause.
TimeThe court time, not an assumed city-hall counter time.
PlaceAsk where court meets; the city address is not proof of courtroom location.
JudgeCurrent OCA data lists Shelley G. Burke; verify live.
Setting typeAsk whether it is plea, appearance, hearing, trial, compliance, or another event.

Keep any written confirmation the clerk gives you for a date-sensitive setting. The Lipscomb County district calendar never lists Follett municipal dates, so that schedule will not help you here.

City Hall Is Not Court Hours

The City of Follett site lists City Hall at 329 South Main Street, Follett, TX 79034, open weekdays from 8 a.m. to noon and noon to 4 p.m. Those hours belong to City Hall. They do not mean the judge holds court then, that a municipal clerk sits at the desk all day, or that a hearing can happen at any posted hour. Court time is its own question.

Before visiting: ask whether 329 South Main is the record counter or courtroom and whether a court clerk will be available.

City Hall is not court hours: call ahead about parking, security, public terminals, interpreters, or courtroom access, since none of that is posted in advance.

Follett Traffic Ticket Lookups

Check the court line on your citation first. A Follett municipal ticket stays with the city court. A county-issued traffic matter may belong to the Lipscomb County JP at 806-862-3844. That can hold true even if it happened near Follett. Where it happened and which court holds it are two separate facts.

Follett publishes no citation field list or number pattern. There is no fine table, deferral terms, driving-safety-course rules, failure-to-appear policy, or online payment code either. Ask the issuing court what payment means, how to contest, and what deadline applies. Do not use the JP's Bureau Code 3412016 as a municipal payment route without confirmation. The countywide traffic court records page explains this custody split.

No Follett Court Portal

The city website gives contact details and no court search. That gap should be said plainly rather than papered over with some other city's vendor. Have only a name? Ask whether the municipal clerk can search internal records. Ask what date range or fee that involves. Have a cause number? Request the docket sheet first.

For a filed judgment or disposition, name the document. Give the approximate date. Say whether you want a plain or certified copy. Ask if the file is electronic, paper, archived, redacted, or restricted. Follett posts no archive year, copy fee, turnaround time, or email-delivery policy.

How Follett Cases Reach County

Follett municipal ordinance and city Class C cases start in the municipal court. County JP cases run through the justice court. Class A and B misdemeanors generally land in the constitutional County Court. Felonies, major civil matters, and family cases go to the 31st Judicial District Court.

Docket flow: Follett Municipal Court › receiving Lipscomb County court on appeal › state appellate route as applicable

Follett publishes no appeal procedure or fee. Ask the city for current filing instructions and the receiving court, then get the new cause number issued there. For county-level records, use the Lipscomb County court docket route instead of asking City Hall about a district case.

Follett Request Field Checklist

Name exactly what you want. A request that names its target gets routed faster than one asking for "all records." Spell out the municipal court name. Include the citation or cause number, plus the party name as filed. Add the approximate date, the event or document, and your current-setting question. Say whether you want a plain or certified copy. Give a delivery method. Leave return contact information. Ask the city to identify the municipal case-record custodian, too.

Citation
The charging paper and starting identifiers.
Setting
A scheduled event, not a result.
Disposition
The recorded court outcome.
Certified copy
A copy authenticated by the issuing clerk.

A city contact page, a directory row, and an activity report are not a docket. Each one is a different record, so do not mistake any of them for the real thing.

Who Can See Follett Court Records

Who gets to see a Follett court record depends on the case type and on Texas law, court rules, and standing orders. Juvenile files, sealed or expunged cases, protected addresses, and sensitive identifiers may be withheld or redacted. An entry can stay public even when the document behind it is restricted.

Texas access boundary: Judicial Branch policy distinguishes Rule 12 administrative records from adjudicative case records requested from the court custodian.

If the clerk denies access, ask for the legal basis and the proper custodian. When a full file cannot be released, request a redacted docket or a public order instead. A zero activity row says nothing about your right of access.

Confirm a Follett Court Result

Check every returned record against the court, cause number, name, date, and status. Each paper answers a different question. A citation shows the charge and response information. A docket gives you the chronology. A payment receipt proves a transaction. Only a signed judgment or disposition states the court result, and a certified copy authenticates whatever record you choose to rely on.

When the result is missing, ask whether the matter belongs to the JP, was transferred or appealed, predates an electronic system, sits in local storage, or is legally restricted. "Not online" never means dismissed. If the document's terms matter, request the signed version, and ask about certification and the current fee separately. Follett has published no case-image viewer, certification fee, archive schedule, or guaranteed response time.

Follett Copy Request Decisions

Pick the record before asking about price. A docket sheet lays out the event sequence. A citation gives the charge and first appearance instruction. A setting notice supplies a date, while a signed judgment or disposition states the result. A certified copy authenticates one of those records. When you contact Follett, provide the cause number, the name as styled, the document title, the approximate date, your plain or certified choice, a delivery preference, and return contact information. Then ask whether the municipal court or another city official is the legal custodian.

With only an old name and a year to go on, ask whether an internal search is possible. Ask whether a fee applies. Follett publishes no online coverage year, archive index, microfilm policy, or response time. If the city reports no match, ask whether the case could be a county JP matter. It might also be a transferred cause, or an older file held somewhere else. When access is restricted, request the legal basis. Ask whether a public docket or a redacted order can be released. These distinctions keep things from blurring together. The live court directory, the dated zero activity row, city-hall contact information, and an actual Follett case record are not the same thing.
